Philip Milio
Philip Milio has pursued the art of photography all of his life. He worked for DoD with satellite imagery for mapping the moon. Later, in the US Army he worked with reconnaissance imagery for Military Intelligence in the Vietnam war. He has an AAS and BA in Photography from SUNY colleges. Philip earned a Masters from NYU in Higher Ed Administration and Counseling with post grad courses in Fine Art and Photography at Hunter College, CUNY and NYU.
Philip worked as a Professor/Counselor in the Student Life Department at FIT for 40 years, teaching leadership, human relations, and managing extracurricular educational programs.
He is a photographer, actor and writer; photographs recently exhibited at Ellenville Hospital, in Ulster County, NY, and the Salmagundi Club in Manhattan; performed in Sophocles’ Philoctetes with Aquila Theatre; Shakespeare’s As You Like It, Twelfth Night and Disney’s Hercules for Public Theatre in the Delacorte, NYC; poems and short stories have been published in NYU and Fordham anthologies as well as STARS & STRIPES on-line. Phil has also presented readings of his memoirs – The NY Historical Society, Bedlam Outreach and Voices From War. He has been a military consultant for theatre – Big Spoon Little Spoon’s A PIECE OF MY HEART and The Sheen Center’s NINE CIRCLES.
