Maya Carter

Maya Carter is an activist, interdisciplinary performer and teaching artist based in Brooklyn, NY.  She is committed to exploring diverse and intersectional art that gives voice to the stories of marginalized identities and communities. She strives to create work that provides a home for those who are looking. Maya holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from Hofstra University. Credits include: Hedda Gabler (Thea Elvsted), for colored girls who considered suicide/when the rainbow is enuf (Lady in Purple), The Summer I Disappeared (Tess), Grounded (The Pilot), and The Freedman’s Lit! (Elizabeth Hunter).
