Sandy Arnold
Sandy joined Art for Vets for the camaraderie. There she learned “the arts “ are therapy. She learned to relax and enjoy the moment, to get lost in pictures when she paints. Penny Deere, the leader of Art for Vets, finds art shows or other outlets for the Arts for Vets writings to be seen/heard.
 
Sandy also participated in Veterans Writing Workshop on zoom in the summer of 2020.
 
She has been credited for 28 years of military service, 4 years active duty at the end of the Women’s Army Corp era, post Vietnam.  She enlisted as private E-1 and left as Ssgt E-6. She continued her service in the Army Reserves. Graduated SUNY with a bachelors degree in Science, Nursing Major. After a year of experience as a Registered Nurse, she was commissioned as an officer. She retired as a Captain in the US Army Reserves.
