Darian Dauchan and Brian Dykstra take their meta-theatrical comedy of spoken word poetry and politics to the Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe. Directed by Margarett Perry, two long-time friends have been commissioned to write a “virtual” play for a theatre shut down due to the pandemic. It’s been a helluva year and Darian and Brian are doing their best to create as they long to be back in front of a live audience—breathing the same air with their friends and fans.

In an evening hosted by Advocate of Wordz, this filmed piece will be given new life as it is screened along with live performances from Darian, Brian, guest poets Vanessa Hidary, Shanelle Gabriel, and Vanessa Rappa , and a Q&A with the creative team. This special event is presented by Poetic Theater Productions, Twilight Theatre Company, and the Nuyorican Poets Café.
