Mika Kauffman
Mika Kauffman (they/them/theirs) is a proud multi-hyphenated NYC-based queer artist. Hailed from Baltimore, they received their BFA in acting from Towson University and an MFA in musical theatre writing from Tisch. They believe in leading with empathy and creating equitable, collaborative spaces for new work. Off-Broadway credits include #adulting, a millennial opera (Director), The Great Cat Massacre (Director), safeword. (Associate Director), Afterglow (Assistant Director, co-dramaturg), reading-performance of Paranormative (Book, Lyrics), We Are The Tigers (Dramaturg); upcoming projects include 10 Days in a Madhouse (Director) set to premiere Off-Broadway in 2021 and MAXA, The Maddest Woman in the World (Book, Lyrics), premiering at University of Minnesota Duluth in 2021. They are a member of Ring of Keys and SDC. Mika also began the Trans Entertainment Guild (TEG), an organization that supports and protects TGNC workers in the entertainment industry under the guidance of TOWN Stages, which granted them the Sokoloff Arts Creative Fellowship (March 2020).
