Jennifer McGrath

Jennifer McGrath is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts who currently serves as the Stage Manager for American Ballet
Theatre while continuing to pursue her passion of directing for the
stage. Recent directing credits include Sipiwe Moyo’s “My Friend
Nina” at Dixon Place, the world premiere reading of Aissa Martell’s
“The History of Pigtails” in the 2015 Poetic License Theater Festival,
and Darian Dauchan’s “Voicepower!,” “Obamatry,” and “Death
Boogie.” Death Boogie is the winner of Best New Music and Best
Innovation in Musical Theatre at the 2012 Edinburgh International
Fringe Festival and has also toured to Pittsburgh, Chicago, Ithaca, and Norway where it headlined the first ever Hip Hop Theater Festival.
“Voicepower!” was commissioned by Arts for All as a piece of theater
for young people and has toured to underprivileged NYC schools in all
5 boroughs. In addition to recent work at the United Nations stage
managing the 2015 Sustainable Goals Summit and the Pope’s Historic
Visit and Address to the General Assembly, Ms. McGrath previously
staged managed for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater touring across the country and around the world. Her event planning work includes non-profit benefit galas for SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young, United Way Worldwide, and the NYC Arts In Education
Roundtable. In the summer of 2011, Jennifer was the director of
NYU’s Summer High School Drama Program. She is a director, stage
manager, teacher, event planner, and producer and believes strongly
in the power of the arts to educate, inspire, create change, and
rehabilitate.
