Steph Walker

A lover of many genres of music, Steph has trained in technique and performance at The Singers Forum, and in vocals and music theory at Jazzmobile. She is inspired by singers like Lena Horne, Jean Carn, Chante Moore, Valerie Simpson, Phyllis Hyman and Nancy Wilson.

She has performed in several bands in the genres of R&B, Jazz, Blues-Rock, alternative, and choirs. For the past three years, she has been the vocalist for the jazz quartet, MakerzMark (Reverbnation/MakerzMark.com). YouTube videos of the band can be found by searching MakerzMarkJazz.

She also acted as a backup singer for the music video “Look Out Love” for recording artist Lauren Robert (November 2012 – Watch Here).

Steph also performs poetry from her own life experience, and is one of three winners for the 2015 Harlem Poetry Book Fair and will be a part of the upcoming Harlem Book Fair Midwest event in Kansas City.
